Charity Pierce, once labeled one of the heaviest women in the world, weighed a staggering 347 kg before deciding to radically change her life. Known for her love of fast food, Charity faced a harsh reality: if she continued, she could soon die. Motivated by her daughter and 22-year-old boyfriend, she joined the show «My 600-lb Life» to take control of her future.
A 38-year-old woman from Iowa, Charity suffered from severe obesity and lymphedema, a condition that caused fluid to accumulate in her limbs, leading to the swelling of her left leg to immense proportions.
Eventually, she could no longer move on her own.
Determined to improve her health, Charity faced a major hurdle. Doctors insisted she lose 121 kg before they could safely perform a life-saving gastric band surgery. After shedding some weight, they agreed to proceed, but only once her weight reached 226 kg.
The process was incredibly difficult. Charity, who used to consume thousands of calories a day, switched to a diet of salads and yogurt, drastically reducing her intake to just 1,200 calories a day.
Previously, her meals included two pizzas, several sandwiches, five doughnuts, popcorn, lasagna, chips, and ice cream.
Now, Charity has lost 220 kg, continues her diet, and follows a specialized exercise program. However, her daughter, who inherited similar traits, gained weight and reached nearly 180 kg by age 18.
Charity’s life took another turn when she separated from her boyfriend, Tony, who left her after she lost weight. The emotional stress led her to drink, and her daughter distanced herself.
In 2020, Charity was diagnosed with kidney cancer and had a kidney removed, but she is recovering and remains hopeful for the future.
Today, Charity weighs just over 100 kg, is sober, passionate about tattoos, and has rebuilt her relationship with her daughter. Her daughter is now married, has a child, and Charity happily spends time with her grandchild, maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
